As per the ABC Research Report based Upon the data of the Ministry of Health and Family welfare till 8 AM of 07/01/2021, there are 228083 active cases, 10016859 COVID-19 patients have been discharged and 150336 persons lost their lives in India till 8 AM of 07/01/2021.

New Delhi (ABC Live India): The Day 289 Report of COVID-19: Today was the 289 day of India’s Fight against Coronavirus: ABC Research Report.

As per the ABC Research Report based Upon the data of the Ministry of Health and Family welfare till 8 AM of 07/01/2021, there are 228083 active cases, 10016859 COVID-19 patients have been discharged and 150336 persons lost their lives in India till 8 AM of 07/01/2021.

On the testing of the capacity of India, the ICMR in its daily report on 06/01/2021 that a total of 17,84,00,995 have been conducted in India till 9 AM of 07/01/2021. Further, the ICMR reported that 9,37,590 new samples were taken during the last 24 hours.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued Updates on COVID-19

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stated that the second nationwide mock drill on the Covid19 vaccination will be held at three session sites of 736 districts across 33 States/UTs through the unique digital platform, Co-WIN, repurposed from the e-VIN platform that will provide real time information of vaccine stocks, their storage temperature and individualized tracking of beneficiaries of the COVID-19 vaccine. This platform will assist the program managers across all levels through automated session allocation for pre-registered beneficiaries, their verification and for generating a digital certificate upon successful completion of the vaccine schedule. More than 78 lakh beneficiaries have been already registered on the platform, he stated.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stated that ministry directed Maharashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, and West Bengal to keep a ‘strict vigil’ to curb recent spike in COVID case keeping in view the reports of rising numbers there.

The Ministry of Finance stated that The National Statistics Office (NSO) released today the first Advance Estimates (AE) of GDP for the year 2020-21. The real GDP at 2011-12 prices in 2020-21 has been estimated to contract by 7.7 per cent and nominal GDP at current prices by 4.2 per cent.

The Ministry of Finance issued Tariff Notification No.03/2021 - Customs (N.T.)

The Ministry of Finance stated that recognising their critical contribution in supporting the economy especially during the present difficult times of COVID-19 pandemic, Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) has taken a new initiative to introduce its flagship “Liberalised MSME AEO Package” for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

The Ministry of Finance stated that Telangana has become the 3rd State in the country to successfully undertake “Urban Local Bodies (ULB)” reform stipulated by the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance. Thus, the State has become eligible to mobilise additional financial resources of Rs.2,508 crore through Open Market Borrowings. Permission for the same was issued by the Department of Expenditure on 7thJanuary, 2021. Telangana has now joined the two other States namely, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, who have completed this reform. On completion of urban local bodies reform, these three States have been granted additional borrowing permission of Rs.7,406 crore.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the proposal of Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade for Central Sector Scheme for Industrial Development of Jammu & Kashmir. The scheme is approved with a total outlay of Rs. 28,400 crore upto the year 2037.

The Ministry of Railways stated that Ministry of Railways extends time limit beyond six months for cancellation of PRS counter tickets and refund of fare across reservation counters for the journey period 21.03.2020 to 31.07.2020

The Ministry of Commerce & Industry stated that India’s seventh Trade Policy Review (TPR) began on Wednesday, 6th January 2021, at the World Trade Organization in Geneva. The TPR is an important mechanism under the WTO’s monitoring function, and involves a comprehensive peer-review of the Member’s national trade policies. India’s last TPR took place in 2015.

The Ministry of Education stated that  eligibility criteria of scoring minimum 75% in Class 12th has been relaxed for taking admission in IITs this year. He further informed that JEE (Advanced) - 2021 will be held as a computer based test on 3rd July 2021. This year JEE (Advanced) will be conducted by IIT Kharagpur.
