of India: Today was the 402 day of India’s Fight against Coronavirus: ABC
Research Report.
As per the Day 402 COVID-19 Report of India there
are 3170228 active cases 15384418 COVID-19 patients have been discharged
and 208330 persons lost their lives in India till 29/04/2021.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family
Welfare released data, a total of 15,48,54,096 vaccine doses have been
given till today.
On the testing of the capacity of India, the ICMR
in its daily report on 29/04/2021 that a total of 28,63,92,086 have been
conducted in India till 9 AM of 28/04/2021. Further, the ICMR reported that 19,20,107
new samples were taken during the last 24 hours.

- The Ministry of
Chemicals and Fertilizers stated that HLL
Lifecare Ltd, a Government of India owned company has ordered 4,50,000
vials of Remdesivir from M/s Gilead
Sciences Inc USA. and Egyptian Pharma Company, M/s Eva Pharma. It is expected that Gilead Sciences Inc.
USA will dispatch 75,000 to 1,00,000 vials in the next one or two days.
Further one hundred thousand quantities will also be supplied before or by
May 15. EVA pharma will supply approximately 10,000 vials initially
followed by 50,000 vials every 15 days or till July.
- The Ministry of
Defence stated that Raksha
Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh invokes special provisions & grants
Emergency Financial Powers to Armed Forces to fight COVID-19 surge. Under these powers, Vice Chiefs of Armed Forces
including Chief Of Integrated Defence Staff To The Chairman Chiefs Of
Staff Committee (CISC) and General Officer Commanding-in-Chiefs
(GOC-in-Cs) and equivalents of all three services have been given full
powers, whereas Corps Commanders/Area Commanders have been delegated
powers up to Rs 50 lakh per case and Division Commanders/Sub Area
Commanders and equivalents have been delegated powers up to Rs 20 lakh per
case. These powers have been devolved initially for a period of three
months from 1st May to 31st July 2021. These are in addition to the
emergency powers delegated to the Medical Officers of the Armed Forces
last week.

Defence claimed that Cantonment
Boards assisting civilian administration in fight against COVID-19 surge
- The Ministry of
Defence informed that As part of the Armed Forces contribution to
civil administration in combating the current COVID crisis, a 57 member
naval medical team consisting of four doctors, seven nurses, 26 paramedics
and 20 supporting staff has been deputed to Ahmedabad on 29 Apr 21. The
team will be deployed at the 'PM Cares COVID Hospital', a special hospital
set up to manage the COVID crisis.
The team is being deployed for two months period to begin with and the
duration would be extended if required.
