Working scope of Members of T20
Think20 (T20) is an official Engagement Group of the G20. It serves as an “idea bank” for the G20 by bringing together think tanks and high-level experts to discuss policy issues relevant to the G20. T20 recommendations are synthesised into policy briefs and presented to G20 working groups, ministerial meetings, and leaders’ summit to help the G20 deliver concrete policy measures.
Who are Members of T20?
Sujan R. Chinoy (Chair) is Director General of New Delhi based Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses. A career diplomat from 1981-2018, he held several important assignments, including as Ambassador to Japan and as head of policy planning in the National Security Council Secretariat. A specialist on defence and security issues, he led boundary negotiations with China. He is the Indian Chair of the Think-20 Core Group during India’s G20 Presidency.
Samir Saran is President of New Delhi based think tank Observer Research Foundation (ORF) and T20 India Leading Institution for G20 India’s Presidency. His research focuses on issues of global governance, climate change and energy policy, technology and media, and India’s foreign policy.
Sachin Chaturvedi is Director General of New Delhi based Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), policy research institute with Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. He works on issues related to development economics, involving development finance, SDGs and South-South Cooperation, apart from trade, investment and innovation linkages with special focus on WTO. He is also Vice Chairman of Madhya Pradesh State Policy and Planning Commission and Member, Board of Governors, Reserve Bank of India.
Arvind Gupta is Director of New Delhi based Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF).He was the Deputy National Security Adviser and Secretary, National Security Council, Government of India during 2014-17. Earlier, he was Director-General of the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, Ministry of Defence, New Delhi during 2012-2014 and a former career diplomat, he has served in the Ministry of External Affairs and Indian missions abroad.
Rohan Jaitley son of former Finance Minister of India Sh. Arun Jaitley is Delhi based a lawyer. Additionally, Rohan is the President of the Delhi and District Cricket Association.
Satnam Singh Sandhu is Chancellor of Chandigarh based private University namely Chandigarh University (CU).
